I hate writing “About Me” statements, but I love reading them. So you lucked out: I'm going to give you something to read which gives you context for this website (though I can't promise any grand insights about art).
There are lots of artists in my family, and I have grown up surrounded by beautiful things that they and their friends have made. More than any particular style or medium, I think my main driver has just been the comfort and enjoyment I get from using dishes, rugs, quilts, and furniture made by hand (and, in my case, by an extended community of artists — primarily crafts people living in the SF Bay Area in the 30s - 90s).
Right now, I make the dishes, quilts, and cards you see on this site as side projects; most of my time is spent tethered to a computer, working for an internet company. I spend any time I’ve got left in the yard reading and watching the flight patterns of bees.
